No Tariff for Local Produces

Tuesday, July 22, 2025
We noticed that price of imported produces and products increases so much, especially from China and Mexico.

Fig 01 - Several fresh produces

Just for an example, we love to consume Mexican avocado with reasonable price, now increasing from US$ 0.2 to US$ 0.8 each.

Soaring about 400%. Turn to be luxury food!

Forget about imported things, we change our diet to fresh local produces with off course "no tariff at all." Some of them include:
- tomatoes
- cucumber
- peaches etch

Fig 02 - Local market

We have several farmer markets around our neighborhood. One of our favorites is located at rural part of our city.

How about the price at your areas (cities)?

  1. You do live in a great area for some wonderful produce. It is more expensive here..although, we do have local tomatoes and squash..and now I have been introduced to microgreens..I love getting those at the farmers market and plan to grow my own.

  6. We always try to support our local farmers so we are doing OK. Soon things will settle down. Our meat prices are edging up so we are eating less which is probably better for us.

  9. In our country, everything is becoming more expensive, not only in shops but also in the markets.

  10. I love supporting farm stands near me, but the price of *everything* has gone up around here, even local goods and produce. These tariffs have a direct effect on imports, but they have ramifications across the board that just aren't sustainable for the average person. :(
