The Great Egret is one of permanent birds which could be observed in our neighborhood or nearby areas.
We might see this "big" egret in the several places around our neighborhood. My favorite site is University Lake.
Othe locations include:
- Comite river, one of our big rivers
- Swamp nature center
- many lakes (capitol lake, lake Martin, downtown lake etc)
- Cypress Island Preserve
- and many local ponds
# Important postings:
We don't know why this bird came to our neighborhood. She might be trying to find food such as frogs and snakes.
Do you familiar with this bird?

Amazing! I'd love to see one. Terrified to be close but really awestruck from a distance.
