Special Parking for Low Emission Vehicles - Sign 3

Tuesday, March 1, 2022

I have known the special signs stand up in the city library parking lots very long time ago.

However, I don’t know the “exact” meaning of these two phrases:

- low emission

- fuel efficient

Fig 01- Sign of parking for low emission and fuel-efficient cars.

I searched through internet to get the meaning and what kind of cars refer to those phrases.

Low emission cars emit low carbon dioxide (CO2) compared to normal car. Electric and hybrid cars are included in this category.

Numerous green cars which are low emission emitter, few examples are:

- Toyota Corolla

- Tesla model 3

- Volvo XC40 T5 Recharge.

- BMW 3 Series 330e.

- Kia e-Niro.

Fig 03- White flowers

Fuel efficient refers to fuel consumed per mile. Lower consumption means energy efficiency.

Some fuel-efficient cars include:

- Toyota Yaris 1.5 Hybrid

- Suzuki Ignis 1.2 Dualjet Hybrid

- Volkswagen Up 1.0 75

- Vauxhall Astra 1.6 CDTi 110 Ecoflex

- Renault Kadjar 1.5 dCi 110

- Chevrolet Bolt 2LT

Have you ever parked your car with this sign?

Friday, February 18, 2022

300 million or more Americans have been vaccinated as of today, and positive cases of Covid 19 have been decreased very much.

With these facts, people should back to normal without masks.

Fig 01- People need to wear mask

However, in entrance of one of our city parks, we saw a big sign:

Mask Up, Baton Rouge!

Until recently, face masks are required in many public spaces include:

- library

- traditional shops or ethnic groceries

- farmer markets

- book stores

- super markets

- banks

- drug stores

Fig 03- Mini palm tree in the bush.

Fig 04- One corner of city at night

We saw “crowd” in many places, but, yes, almost all are wearing mask and have social distances.

Moreover, in our city as of today, people are not encouraged to visit love ones in the following public facilities:

- hospital

- nursing home

- skilled nursing facility

- other residential care facilities

How about in your places or cities?

Are people required to wear mask until today?

Fig 01- A sign at the park of lake side

There is a park rules sign at lake side with 9 little signs in its, what interesting sign is that pets must remain on a leash at all times and pets waste removed.

Other little signs are:

Fig 03- White pelicans, swimming around the lake

Thess yellow beak birds come from northern part of America include:

- Alberta and Northwest Territories provinces

- Rocky Mountain’s ponds and lakes

Fig 04- A German Shepard at neighborhood

We know that the main reason the birds migrate to southern states of USA is freezing in high elevation waters of northern American.

Our city lakes provide fish as food source to draw the pelican to come. The lakes to be a kind of eating zone.

In addition to our city lake, the pelicans love to visit:

- quiet waters of the Atchafalaya Basin

- coastal lakes.

- rice fields

How many lakes or ponds your city or place have? What kind of migratory birds visit those lakes?
